During the summer I opt for a very light, simple pasta and since summer produce, like tomatoes are at its peak, the simple ingredients really do all the work!
This is a really ingredient forward recipe so be sure to use quality!
I added some crab meat to the pasta but totally optional!
Let me know how you like!
Ingredients
1/2 box of any type of pasta you like!
I used cavatelli for mine!
1 pint (about one pound) cherry tomatoes, halved
1 large garlic clove, finely grated
this recipe uses raw garlic which is pretty intense but SO good!
1/2 lb crab meat, jumbo lump is preferred
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adds a nice touch of spice)
1-2 tablespoons unsalted butter
kosher salt & fresh cracked black pepper
a GOOD extra virgin olive oil like Graza Extra Virgil Olive Oil (drizzle) !
sold at Whole Foods & World Market!
optional: basil & parmesan cheese for a little razzle dazzle garnish!
Tools
pasta pot
mixing bowls
chefs knife
zester/microplane
cutting board
Directions
Cook pasta according to al dente box instructions and salt the boiling water so the pasta has some flavor to it!
Add all ingredients to a mixing bowl except the butter. Season tomatoes & crab with salt, pepper, EVOO & red pepper flakes.
Add the HOT pasta straight from the pan, throw in the butter & combine all together so everything is well combined, it basically emulsifies all together to create something so simple but so amazing! Throw in some parmesan cheese & roughly torn basil. This pasta is so simple & delicious and I hope you love!
Made this last night, but with shrimp instead of crab. It was SO good, and easy to make!!
Looks amazing! What kind of pasta was that ?
