I fully intended in dropping my big skillet pancake recipe today but I can’t do that with so much going on in LA where I live & call home.
What’s going on in LA the last 48 hours has been devastating. Seeing people’s homes being burned down within minutes is heartbreaking. Your home is your safe haven, it holds so many memories, so much meaning…my heart goes out to everyone. Watching the news & social media, the grief on peoples faces is beyond heartbreaking.
We are safe & beyond grateful to have community.
We had to evacuate due to the Sunset Fire since that is close to where I live & we went to a friends house in West Adams. I am back home now filled with gratitude but also grieving for people who have lost everything & two things can exist at once.
I appreciate everyone reaching out to see if we are ok & also checking in on my egg freezing journey since I shared earlier in the week before the fires started. It feels weird to share because I can only imagine the fertility clinics that were affected in the fires that holds so many women’s frozen eggs or embryos.
I love this city. LA’s culture & beauty runs deep, it has wrapped its arms around me so tight that I feel at home here. We will rebuild over time, just keep LA in your prayers.

I didn't even think about fertility clinics that were destroyed, along with people's precious dreams. So incredibly sad. Sigh.
Thank your for sharing! Glad you and Grey are safe. Scrolling through the list of family GoFundMe’s and knowing that it barely scratches the surface of all those who have lost homes is so devastating. I’ve fallen in love with LA and can hope pray for coverage and provisions!
