

You guys…hot saucies!
Tomato season is at its PEAK right now so that means only one thing...BLTs!!! Also just sandwiches in general lol and I love a sandwich, especially a well dressed sandwich!
Not to brag but I make a pretty good sandwich, even my friends say I make a great freaking sandwich (especially after some late night partying lol)…some say ‘mom sandwiches,’ because you know how mom’s make the best sandwiches lol!
Anyway, I love a BLT…it’s classic, simple and just amazing!
Below is my breakdown, not a recipe lol bc obvi…
Ingredients (one big ass sandwich)
1 heirloom tomato or beefsteak tomato
sliced & seasoned with flakey maldon finishing salt & pepper. The salt brings out the flavor in the tomato…swear!
butter lettuce or red lettuce
sourdough bread: it’s the upgrade from the basic white bread…it’s chic!
toasted in a pan with some butter, makes a total difference!
3 slices bacon
cook your bacon in the oven for even crispiness on 400 degrees until done! I would say about 10-15 minutes depending on your oven.
maple pepper bacon: I drizzle mine with maple syrup & crack some black pepper over it & cook it in the oven…it’s sticky & sweet!
kewpie is a Japanese mayo that has ultimate umami flavor that I love over regular degular mayo, it’s amazing & Dukes mayo is just thee goat!
unsalted butter or some EVOO, for toasting the bread in a pan
garlic clove, for rubbing the garlic on the toasted bread
rubbing your bread with garlic adds a little garlic flavor and it’s next level!
Optionals that I like…
sliced avocado
red onions
slice red onions & put them in ice cold water. Throwing them in ice cold water cuts the harsh bite of the onion but keeps the flavor!
protein: I love adding smoked salmon (not lox) like Fishwife’s smoked salmon , Honey Smoked Fish. Co. or turkey to my BLTs sometimes!
